The purpose of these posters is to advocate for socially responsible design and t make designers more aware of their own agency. This project served as the foundation for my honours practice-based research because it helped me to better understand my role as a designer in South Africa. My research revolved around exploring different ways in which communication design can be used to subvert the colonial gaze in South African tourism advertising.
